DATE: 13th October 2024
DISTANCE
8.5 miles (Walked)
TOTAL SO FAR: 80.75 miles
On this leg we really did begin to see it as a river walk. We started by the Severn and walked around half with the river in sight or very nearby.
The start fell foul of same problems as the previous legs, but then became much clearer with good signage for most of the route. Parking was very easy at either end, with Sunday parking in Shrewsbury being free.

ROUTE MAP STAGE 9
The route mainly consisted of bridle paths, green lanes and tracks in the first half. When we neared Shrewsbury the route was very much riverside, with pedestrian ways and one small detour.
There was one meadow element where some livestock was grazing , but it was easy enough to avoid any potential confrontations.
Once in Shrewsbury itself , the walk became a proper stroll through community parks with cafes and pubs nearby.
